twenty-five

{print by trafalgarssquare}

today, I'm celebrating my 25th birthday. I don't know why, but twenty-five was always the age I thought I'd become a "grown up". And given all the exciting things that are happening this year -- purchasing my first home, moving away from my parents, and getting married -- I suppose I am getting closer to "growing up".

And at the same time, I can't believe how fast the first half of my twenties went. Halfway to thirty is, well... not scary, but thought-provoking. I've never made a list like this, but I thought that today would be a good occasion.

25 Things I want to do Before I'm 30 (I figure I'll just add one thing per year until thirty to make up for thirty things):

1. fly a kite (I don't think I've ever done this!)
2. go to a proper wine tasting
3. take a cruise, this time with my husband
4. hike to a waterfall
5. sleep under the stars
6. conquer my fear of skiing
7. kiss in front of the Tour Eiffel
8. skinny dip
9. learn to sew
10. add a collection of french children's literature to my library
11. read novels in french for pleasure
12. get a massage
13. do something to "give back"
14. obtain my Masters degree
15. so swimming in the mediterranean sea
16. rent one of those "tiki huts" above the water
17. buy silk in Aruba
18. paint a room a totally unexpected color
19. dance in the rain
20. cook a lobster
21. go fishing
22. go snowshoeing
23. participate in a charity walk
24. familiarize myself with "classic" movies
25. go to a scandinavian spa... in winter

... just a little list like that, but I'm really going to try to do these things. Time goes by too fast otherwise.
